At America’s Rehab Campuses, we understand it can be scary to give up control over certain aspects of your life to focus on recovery. One concern you may have is how long you will spend in a treatment program. It may be important for you to return to your day-to-day life, see your friends and family, enjoy activities, and regain your responsibilities as quickly as possible. If this is the case, you may be curious about our program lengths, and if they can benefit you.

How Long Are Treatment Programs?

When you arrive at America’s Rehab Campuses, you may begin your rehab program with a medical detox. In this initial program, we design a safe, customized plan that suits your particular needs. Depending on your particular health and well-being, this process may take anywhere from a day to ten days.

After you have successfully withdrawn from substances, you may enter into inpatient residential treatment. This treatment program may last 30, 60, 90, or more days. At first, our qualified professionals may recommend that you stay for a specific amount of time. We determine this after a thorough consultation and discussion with you.

Once you have progressed in your treatment, you may feel as though that length is shorter than you would like. During your recovery journey, you will learn important skills that will help you identify if you would benefit from a longer stay. Of course, our kind and loving staff are always here to help you make these hard decisions. We have personally seen many of our clients do exceptionally well in stays longer than 90 days, in line with established research.

What Are the Benefits of Longer Stays?

When you stay at America’s Rehab Campuses, you may notice many aspects of the program begin slowly and progressively build as you become more comfortable and confident in recovery. You may notice several advantages from this process of learning and growing, such as:

Gaining a Support System

One of the main benefits of rehab is the peer support network you create during your stay. You can rely on others who are going through or have gone through similar struggles as you. These connections made through social activities and events, group counseling sessions, or support groups can help you feel less alone and provide a source of hope and wisdom. The longer you can attend rehab, the more stable and steadfast these social relationships can become.

Creating Healthy Lifestyle Changes

It takes a substantial amount of time to replace negative or misguided habits with positive choices. It may take a while longer for these choices to become second nature. At America’s Rehab Campuses, we want you to live your life to the fullest. which is precisely why we offer many programs, services, and activities at our facilities. Over time, you will learn how to make healthy lifestyle changes in regard to nutrition, exercise, and social activities.

Removing Distractions

It is important you receive the care, support, and resources you need. In some cases, this involves removing yourself from negative, challenging, or stressful environments and situations in order to recover. It can make a significant difference to receive long-term inpatient rehabilitation so that you can cope with hard situations or make healthy decisions regarding those situations.

Decreasing Risks of Relapse

It is an excellent idea to take your time learning self-awareness, coping techniques for dealing with stressors and triggers, and emotional and behavioral understanding. With our special relapse prevention training, you can also reduce your risks substantially for relapse and you will be able to confidentially live a sober life.

Do You Need More Help After Inpatient Rehab?

If you require further treatment after inpatient treatment, you may benefit from our partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program, outpatient program, or sober living community. We offer these options to make sure you can receive ongoing support and necessary resources while pursuing sober life. If you feel as though you can transition back to day-to-day responsibilities and activities but need the extra help, consider our outpatient treatment programs.
