Vance Johnson - America's Rehab Campuses

We are extremely happy to announce that Vance Johnson is taking on the role of ambassador for America’s Rehab Campus. Vance Johnson is a former NFL wide-receiver where he took the Denver Broncos to three Super Bowls. During his football career, Vance was also tackling the struggles of addiction on the sidelines. He knew something had to change and he achieved his goal of sobriety in 2013 before going on to open and serve as ambassador for the Vance Johnson Recovery Center.

Vance is already a familiar face at ARC, having dedicated time to speak with our alumni once a month. Now as an ambassador, we can work together to bring more awareness and assistance to those struggling with substance abuse and addiction. Working towards this joint goal, Vance will be traveling to Baltimore to deliver the keynote address at NCAD East 2021. He will be speaking Friday November 19th at 4:10 PM.

The National Conference on Addiction Disorders

Vance brings true experiences and insights to the twelfth annual NCAD East which serves as a networking and learning event. Attendees consist of addiction, behavioral and mental health professionals who are all focused on discussing the problems facing those afflicted with addiction and the treatment that aids it. The increase in substance abuse and addiction during the pandemic has given the conference a new energy to help turn the tides.

To help shed more light on the journey from addiction to sobriety, Vance is going to take the stage and share his life story with attendees. His rise to NFL fame, his biggest struggles and his fresh start that he uses to bring addiction treatment to those who need it. NCAD East 2021 is eager to have Vance expand on his experiences, discoveries and revelations he gained while overcoming drug addiction.

What Vance and the NCAD Are Doing To Promote Progress

In 2020, 59.3 million people aged 12 or older reported that they had used illicit drugs in the past year. Over 61.6 million people aged 12 or older stated they had engaged in binge drinking during the month prior to the assessment. These are the numbers from SAMHSA’s 2020 report on substance use and mental health.

NCAD East 2021 will be covering three key topics in the world of addiction and mental health treatment. The opening focus will be sharing new initiatives and treatment options that have shown evidence of properly addressing various mental health concerns. Another important pillar of the conference will be discussion about MAT, medication-assisted treatment, and how it can best be used for current recovery programs.

Hoping to inspire more people to learn about and explore bringing addiction treatment to the public, NCAD East will also be talking about executive and leadership roles. Current and upcoming recovery centers will learn vital insights about how to properly run and grow into a reliable source of compassionate and expert care.
