Carlea Jo Lauer LPC
Clinical Director
Carlea Jo serves as Clinical Director at Arizona Rehab Campus, where she is dedicated to building a culture of clinical excellence, growth, and accountability, and is deeply invested in developing therapists into confident, competent, and compassionate clinicians through clinical supervision and mentorship. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona and Wisconsin, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Forensic Psychology, with a career specializing in the treatment of substance use disorders, trauma, co-occurring mental health disorders, and complex clinical presentations. Her leadership and clinical philosophy center on meeting people where they are, recognizing their strengths, and challenging them to grow—guided by the belief that great clinicians are developed through intentional mentorship and support, and that her mission is to help people become healthier, stronger, and more hopeful than they believed possible, while empowering the clinicians who serve them to do the same.
Dr. Paul R. Valbuena, M.D., Psych
Chief Medical Officer
Paul R. Valbuena, M.D., is a licensed physician in Arizona, specializing in behavioral health and wellness, and has been in practice here in the Phoenix Metropolitan area now since 2009. He has been a practicing physician since 2003. He is a double-board certified psychiatrist and a diplomate in the American Board Of Psychiatry and Neurology as well as the American Board of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, with specialties in addiction psychiatry.
Aimee Ramos FNP
Medical Director / Residential Director of Nursing
Aimee Ramos is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of clinical and leadership experience in behavioral health and addiction medicine. As Director of Medical Services at Arizona Rehab Campus, she oversees medical programming across ARC’s full continuum of care. A collaborative leader and patient advocate, Aimee works across clinical, nursing, and administrative teams to uphold the highest standards of evidence-based, compassionate care.
Robert Miles RN
Director of Nursing
Robert Miles serves as Director of Nursing at Arizona Rehab Campus, bringing a dedicated and compassionate approach to behavioral health, psychiatric care, and nursing leadership. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Regis College, driven by a passion for advancing mental health treatment through evidence-based, patient-centered care. In his role, he oversees clinical operations and leads a talented team of nurses in providing high-quality, trauma-informed care for individuals facing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, with experience spanning direct patient assessment, medication management, regulatory compliance, staff development, and crisis intervention. Previously, he worked as a Registered Nurse with Universal Health Services, where he gained hands-on experience in inpatient psychiatric care, developing individualized care plans and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to support recovery and resilience. With a foundation in both clinical practice and management, and an educational background in nutritional sciences and biochemistry, Robert brings a holistic, integrative perspective to mental health care, guided by the belief that compassionate leadership and collaborative teamwork are the cornerstones of meaningful healing and sustainable wellness.

Chris Kling
Chief of Quality Care
Chris Kling brings more than 20 years of dedicated experience in addiction and behavioral health to his role as Chief of Quality Care at Arizona Rehab Campus. A nationally recognized professional interventionist, Chris has spent his career guiding individuals and families through some of their most critical moments, connecting people in crisis to life-changing treatment and long-term recovery pathways. In his leadership role at ARC, he draws on his extensive clinical and intervention background to drive quality improvement initiatives, strengthen care delivery standards, and ensure that every client receives individualized, compassionate treatment across the full continuum of care. Chris’s deep field expertise, combined with his commitment to evidence-based practices and regulatory excellence, makes him a powerful force in advancing ARC’s mission and elevating the standard of behavioral health care in the communities it serves.

Garrett Kitchens

Garrett Kitchens brings more than 10 years of experience in behavioral health and addiction services to his role as Regional Director of Business Development at Arizona Rehab Campus. Deborah Kovac
HR Director
Deborah Kovac is a seasoned Human Resources professional with more than 20 years of experience in workforce development, employee relations, talent acquisition, and organizational culture. As Human Resources Director at Arizona Rehab Campus, Deborah serves as the backbone of ARC’s most valuable asset — its people — overseeing all aspects of HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, staff development, and retention strategies across a diverse, multi-site workforce. Her extensive background in human resources within complex, people-centered organizations gives her a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges and rewards that come with supporting a team dedicated to behavioral health and addiction treatment. Deborah is a skilled relationship builder and trusted advocate for both employees and the organization, fostering a workplace culture rooted in accountability, compassion, and professional growth. Bryan Adamson
CFO
Bryan Adamson joined ARC as Chief Financial Officer in January 2024. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. With a diverse industry background, Bryan has spent his career leading private organizations in developing, implementing, and executing company’s business strategies. He is excited about his role at ARC and the important work the company is doing to improve the lives of the individuals they serve.
Dexter
Chief Moral Officer
Dexter serves as the Chief Moral Officer at Arizona Rehab Campus, bringing 13 years of unparalleled expertise in unconditional love, emotional support, and human morale optimization. A seasoned professional in the art of tail-wagging, couch-occupying, and strategic cuddle deployment, Dexter has dedicated his entire career to the singular mission of making every person he encounters feel seen, valued, and a little less stressed. His open-door — or rather, open-paw — policy ensures that no team member or client goes without a moment of joy during even the most challenging of days. Dexter holds advanced certifications in Treat Acquisition, Nap Science, and Unconditional Positive Regard, and is widely regarded as the most universally beloved member of the ARC leadership team. When he is not presiding over staff meetings or conducting wellness rounds, Dexter can be found pursuing his other professional interests — tennis balls, belly rubs, and the occasional unauthorized snack. His commitment to the humans around him is unmatched, and ARC is a better place because of him.

She is committed to providing exceptional leadership, promoting teamwork, and supporting the growth and success of our staff. She has extensive experience and advanced training in various therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma-informed care.
